PREP ROUNDUP: Buford blanks E. Coweta 6-0

SHARPSBURG — Buford shut down East Coweta 6-0 on Wednesday.

Melissa Dickie picked up the win for the Wolves after she pitched the first four innings and gave up a hit, a walk, and struck out five batters. Karly Fullem threw the last three innings and gave up a hit, a walk, and struck out two batters to earn the save. Offensively, Fullem was 2-for-2 with a three-run home run, and three RBIs, while Kodi Ricketson was 3-for-4 with a run. Aly Hicks went 2-for-4, while Kallie Case went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs for Buford (10-1).


Collins Hill 8, North 4

SUWANEE — Kayla Floor (6-1) earned the win on the mound for the Eagles, as Collins Hill beat North Gwinnett 8-4 on Wednesday.

Mckenzie Halstead went 3-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and a run, Ariele Patterson had a double and an RBI, while Aerika Miles finished 3-for-4 with two runs for the Eagles (10-1-1, 3-1).

Berkmar 23, North Druid 16

ATLANTA — Queen Briggs went 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBIs, and three stolen bases to help Berkmar defeat North Druid 23-16 on Wednesday.

Rebecca Morgan went 2-for-2 with four RBIs and three runs and Amarilis Harper had three RBIs and two runs for Berkmar (2-3). Jasmine White got the win for the Patriots.

Mill Creek 8, Providence 4

LILBURN — Alissa Stringer went 2-for-2 with three runs and an RBI to help Mill Creek defeat Providence 8-4 on Wednesday.

Jenna Holland went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI and Anyssa Robles also went 1-for-2. Caroline Wilson pitched a complete game and gave up four runs on seven hits, and walked six batters for Mill Creek (10-1).

Kylie Kleinschmidt (6-4) got the loss on the mound for Providence and allowed four hits, three walks, an earned run and struck out 11 batters. Offensively, Kleinschmidt had an RBI triple, while MacKenzie Tuttle had two RBIs and two hits and Tayler Tuttle helped with an RBI double for Providence (10-5-2).

Peachtree Ridge 8,

Duluth 0

SUWANEE — Peachtree Ridge shut out Duluth 8-0 in five innings on Wednesday afternoon.

Kaitlyn Vincent went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, Chandler Frisbie was 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Sarah Walker was 3-for-3 with an RBI. On the mound, Walker picked up the win after giving up two hits in five innings for the Lions (6-8, 3-2).

Archer 17, Campbell 5

SMYRNA — Archer took a 17-5 victory over Campbell in the Cobb/Gwinnett Challenge on Wednesday.

Nicole Roberts finished the day 4-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs, Alliyah Williams was 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs, Jenna Graham was 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs and Holli Sturgill went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Katie Etheridge (2-0) collected the win after she threw four innings and gave up two hits, five runs and struck out four batters for Archer (8-1).

Oconee Co. 6, Lanier 0

SUGAR HILL — Lanier fell to Oconee County 6-0 on Wednesday.

Kaylee Ramos gave up one earned run and registered the loss on the mound for Lanier. Offensively, Lauren Pettit, Ciera Fackles and Keisha Stone each went 1-for-3 for the Longhorns (3-9, 1-3).

Mtn. View 13, Norcross 5

LAWRENCEVILLE — Mountain View had a big night offensively and beat Norcross 13-5 on Tuesday for its first region win after moving up to Class AAAAA this season.

Meghan Tonneson, Taylor Miller, Lindsey Baxter, Kaylee Hennelly and Summer Spataro all had multiple hits for the Bears (3-10-1, 1-2). Hennelly was also the winning pitcher, allowing just two runs in four innings of work.
