LAWRENCEVILLE — Thinking about attending Georgia Gwinnett College? Be prepared to turn in an application sooner rather than later.
“Because students within our market are accustomed to our later deadlines, we want to make it known that our application deadlines will be earlier,” said Laura Ledford, executive director of enrollment management. “As we have grown, it has become necessary to allow more time for processing applications.” Due to overwhelming demand, Ledford said the application deadline for the upcoming spring semester is Nov. 15. Applications will be accepted until the close of business that day. The new college has experienced enrollment increases for each of its four previous spring semesters, a pattern not typically seen in higher education. Georgia Gwinnett College reached a fall enrollment of more than 5,300 and expects a record number of spring semester applications. Spring semester classes begin Jan. 6. All tuition and fees must be paid in full by Jan. 3. The college will offer a final spring open house program on Nov. 13, just before the application deadline. For more information or to register for the program, which begins at 8 a.m., visit www.ggc.edu/openhouse. Located in Lawrenceville, Georgia Gwinnett College offers 12 degree programs and more than 40 areas of study. It has grown dramatically since opening its doors in 2006 with about 120 students.
