Funeral services will be at 11 AM Friday, October 29, 2010, at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel, for Nina Smith Cassidy, 82, of Lawrenceville, Ga., who passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side, Monday Oct. 25, 2010. Rev. Harvey Beck and Rev. John Simmons will officiate with special music by Barry Benefield. Burial will follow at Hokes Bluff Cemetery. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Chapel is in charge. Mrs. Cassidy was a member of 1st Methodist Church of Lawrenceville, Ga. She had lived in Lawrenceville for 44 years but was a native of Hokes Bluff. She was a graduate of Hokes Bluff High School. She retired from Coats & Clark in 1993 from the payroll department and also, enjoyed many years at Chick-Fil-A. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Truman and Annie Mae Smith; brother, TW Smith; sister, Jeanette Landers; and granddaughter, Jillian Morris. She is survived by her children, Mike Cassidy and Rexanne (Ted) LePage both of Lawrenceville, Ga. Grandchildren, Ben (Tammy) Cassidy, John (Kelly) Cassidy, Dusty Morris, Keane LePage, and Matt LePage; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Betty (Milton) Reed, Raleigh, N. C.; sister-in-law, Lillian Smith, Hokes Bluff; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be all friends. Special thanks to Guardian Hospice and Amedysis Home Health. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to 1st Methodist Church of Hokes Bluff.
