LOGANVILLE -- Officials recently arrested a Loganville man wanted for allegedly raping a young girl in May.
Members of the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office picked up 28-year-old Alphonso Clark on Wednesday, booking him into Gwinnett County Jail on charges of rape and aggravated sexual battery, records show.
According to police reports, Clark entered a multiple-family residence in Loganville late in the afternoon on May 18, physically forcing a 16-year-old girl "to have non-consensual intercourse."
Clark reportedly then left before the victim and her mother called police. More than five months later, officials were able to track him down.
Since December 2006, Clark has spent more than 11 months in Gwinnett County Jail on various charges, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, pointing a gun at another and battery, records show.
Clark was already on probation at the time of his arrest.
