Gwinnett Daily Post
On March 13, arena football will return to Gwinnett.
The Georgia Force announced their 2011 schedule on Thursday, which includes a season and home opener against Tulsa on Sunday afternoon at 4:05 p.m. The remainder of the games on the 18-game schedule will be either Friday or Saturday night. The Force will play nine games at the Arena at Gwinnett Center starting with the March 13 game and ending on July 9 against Chicago.
"The 2011 schedule looks to be both an exciting and challenging one," Force head coach Dean Cokinos said. "The Southern division is arguably the toughest division in the AFL with three quality teams in the state of Florida. I am sure we will quickly develop some new and rekindle some old rivalries. For the Force to have the opportunity to return to the AFL at home at the Gwinett Arena is exciting and I think it is awesome for this community. I am sure there will a lot of energy in the building."
The only teams the Force will play twice are division foes Jacksonville, New Orleans, Tampa Bay and Orlando.
The NFL Network will broadcast one AFL Friday night game a week but has not released its schedule yet.
