NORCROSS — A DeKalb County traffic stop led Gwinnett officials to an apparent drug den last week, as they uncovered almost 200 grams of methamphetamine at a Norcross apartment.
According to officials, Julian Almeira-Arzate and Salto Erminio-Torres left their residence on Elmside Village Lane near Holcomb Bridge Road on Thursday afternoon, at which time nearby DeKalb County officers performed a traffic stop as they crossed into that county.
After meth was reportedly found on Erminio-Torres, Gwinnett County narcotics officers took out a subsequent search warrant for the residence in which he and Almeira-Arzate lived.
There, officers found “194.4 grams of methamphetamine throughout the apartment to include the dining room, kitchen and bedroom,” according to the warrants for their arrest. Officials also reportedly found a firearm and two digital scales, Gwinnett County police spokesman Cpl. Brian Kelly said.
Both Erminio-Torres, 31, and Almeira-Arzate, 24, were booked into DeKalb County Jail and charged with trafficking methamphetamine.
