SNELLVILLE — A natural gas leak that evacuated two Snellville businesses in the U.S. Highway 78 corridor was brought under control about 11 a.m. Thursday, officials said.

Fire crews responded to the scene about 7:20 a.m. after a water utility crew digging near the highway’s intersection with Rockdale Circle cut a two-inch gas main, officials said.

As a precaution, authorities temporarily evacuated a CVS Pharmacy and QuckTrip convenience store in the area. No injuries were reported.
