Roster spots are available with the Georgia Force, back in the Arena Football League for the 2011 season, and the search for players begins this weekend in Suwanee.
The franchise, which will play its games again at the Arena at Gwinnett Center, will host open tryouts for potential players this Saturday at the Atlanta Silverbacks Sports Center in Suwanee. Registration begins at 10 a.m.
Tryouts will include 40-yard dash, short shuttle, broad jump, individual drills and one-on-ones, all supervised by the Force coaching staff.
“We’re in a talent-rich region and hope to find some quality players who can contribute to our organization,” Force head coach Dean Cokinos said. “We want tough, hard-working players and this will be the first chance for potential candidates to showcase their abilities.”
Prospective players can send questions to email@example.com or contact Brad Graham at 770-609-1331. Tryout costs $80 and only cash is accepted if signing up on Saturday. Shoes suitable for artificial turf are necessary for the tryout.
The Georgia Force played from 2002-08, including three seasons at the Gwinnett arena. That run ended when the GFL folded late in 2008, but a new league model brought the franchise back for the 2011 season.
