SUWANEE -- The Gwinnett County Board of Education will be asked Thursday to vote on its legislative priorities for the upcoming year.
During the board's monthly business meeting, Gwinnett County Public Schools Superintendent J. Alvin Wilbanks will present a draft of the 2011 Legislative Program for the school board's consideration and adoption.
Each year, the school board adopts legislative priorities to let Gwinnett legislators know which issues are of critical importance to the funding and effective operation of the school system.
The monthly meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday in the board room of the Instructional Support Center, 437 Old Peachtree Road NW, Suwanee.
