NORCROSS — Gwinnett County fire investigators made an arrest in a Norcross vehicle arson case last Wednesday night, citing the suspect’s motive as revenge.
Santiago Sorto-Hernandez, 24, of Duluth has been arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree arson after officials identified him as the suspect in a fire that caused three cars in a Norcross driveway to go up in flames, Gwinnett County fire spokesman Capt. Tommy Rutledge said. According to officials, Sorto-Hernandez went to the address on Bishops Circle planning to confront a resident there about a fight with his brother. Instead, he reportedly poured gasoline on the man’s Honda Civic, setting it on fire “to get back at him,” Rutledge said. Two other cars in the driveway also caught fire. Sorto-Hernandez suffered burns on his neck, ear and arm as a result of the fire, Rutledge said.More like this story
