LAWRENCEVILLE -- Gwinnett County police have issued a financial identity fraud warrant for the arrest of a College Park woman already facing similar charges stemming from an incident in May.
According to the warrant issued Wednesday, 27-year-old Yolanda Lavette Milner pilfered tens of thousands of dollars from the accounts of an elderly woman in central Arizona during a five-month period beginning in May.
Opening fraudulent business accounts under the woman's name at a Norcross bank, officials said, Milner was able to secure more than $41,000 of her victim's assets. According to a brief police report, Milner somehow obtained the name, date of birth and bank account information of the Arizona woman she did not know in order to open the accounts in Gwinnett.
Milner was already facing a similar charge when Lilburn Police picked her up for financial identity fraud on May 14. She was released on $5,700 bond the next day, Gwinnett County Jail records show.
A report on that arrest was not readily available Friday.
