BUFORD — A Forsyth County woman that had been missing for a week was found unharmed at Buford Dam Park on Tuesday afternoon.
Ann Marie Barker, 66, of Cumming was reported missing on Oct. 6 after her daughter had gone to her apartment and couldn’t locate her. Around 3 p.m. Tuesday, U.S. Corps of Engineers park rangers found Barker sitting on a bench at the park near Lake Lanier. “After talking with Ms. Barker (Tuesday), investigators say no foul play was involved in the disappearance,” Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Karleen Chalker said. “It is believed Ms. Barker had been at the park since Wednesday.” Barker was transported to Northside Hospital-Forsyth, authorities said, but was reportedly in good condition. Prior to being found, Barker had last been seen on Oct. 5 making a transaction at the Wachovia bank near her apartment on Ronald Reagan Boulevard in Cumming.More like this story
