Mr. Winford Waycaster, age 86, of Buford, GA passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2010. He was preceded in death by his son, James Donald Waycaster; and grandson, Chris Waycaster Eubanks. He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Essie Mae Waycaster, Buford, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jim Merritt, Buford, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Emory and Jan Waycaster, Winder, GA; grandchildren, Daniel Waycaster, Jeremy Kennedy, Charity McKee and Heather Coates, Pam and Brandon Mitchell, Tim Merritt, Julie and Greg Villines and Jennifer and Joseph Bagwell; fourteen great grandchildren, Callie, Kade, Jacob, Nicholas, Ethan, Morgan, Aubrey, Jacob, Alexander, Sydney, Zachary, Matthew, Sarah, and Grace; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Aaron and Deborah Whidby; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Waycaster was born October 5, 1923 in Buford, GA. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II where he received the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, E.A.M.E. Medal, three Bronze Stars, American Defense Service Medal, and World War II Victory Medal. He was a retired auto mechanic. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur Southerland and Rev. Ramone Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA with military honors.
