LAWRENCEVILLE — Gwinnett police reported Monday that a Lawrenceville man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after fatally shooting his estranged wife Nov. 14.
Police said Robert and Joy Taylor were in the midst of a marital separation when he came to their Park Creek Circle home, engaged in an argument, pulled a gun and fatally shot her in the driveway. He then shot himself in the head. Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. Edwin Ritter said Robert Taylor, 37, survived in hospital care until Nov. 16. Homicide investigators learned of his death last week, Ritter said. Police had been dispatched to the Taylors’ residence to investigate several domestic complaints in recent years, Ritter said. No protective orders or divorce papers had been filed in Gwinnett by either person, court records show.More like this story
