LAWRENCEVILLE — Fire officials want to remind folks that holiday checklists should include safety measures during the upcoming — and typically fire-prone — weeks.
The Gwinnett County Fire Department will host a free, public “Holiday Fire Safety Symposium” from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center. Bullet points will include all manner of fire-risk reduction hot topics. Among them: Holiday decorations and Christmas tree safety; candle use; how to keep watch in the kitchen and focus on the fireplace; and other general home fire safety practices. The Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center is located at 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville.
