LAWRENCEVILLE — The holidays mean a break for county government staffers, and an impact to Thursday trash service in unincorporated Gwinnett.
The government released its holiday closures Tuesday, including the closing of offices Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. With the exception of “operations required for the comfort and safety of the citizens,” offices will also be closed Dec. 23 and 24 for Christmas and Dec. 31 for New Year’s Eve. A Magistrate Court judge will be available at the Gwinnett County Detention Center. With Christmas and New Year’s Day both on Saturdays, the only expected disruption to trash pickup will be during the Thanksgiving holiday. All pickups scheduled for Thursday will be rescheduled for Friday, and Friday pickups will be rescheduled for Saturday, a press release said.More like this story
