SUGAR HILL — Sugar Hill’s first 24-hour grocer opened Thursday at 6001 Ga. Highway 20.
The new 93,000-square-foot Kroger store showcases an array of products, amenities and services that create a one-stop shopping experience for the Sugar Hill community. The supermarket features a Starbucks coffee shop; a drive-through pharmacy; a floral department; expansive meat and seafood, deli, bakery and natural foods departments; and an extensive general merchandise department. “The Kroger store in Sugar Hill was designed to provide customers with a convenient shopping experience,” said Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division. “With amenities like Murray’s Cheese and Starbucks, Kroger’s Sugar Hill store will expand the superior services we already offer our customers to create a one-stop shopping experience.” To celebrate its arrival to the community, the store planned four days of events, including an ice cream social and an appearance from a balloon artist with the celebration extending through the weekend. “The scheduled opening celebrations are a good way to introduce ourselves to the community,” said Jim Dixon, manager of the Sugar Hill Kroger. “Many of our associates live in Sugar Hill and (were) anxiously anticipating the store’s opening.” The opening of the store brought more than 150 jobs to the area.More like this story
