Pauline Patrick Jakubowski, age 73 of Dacula, GA, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Pauline is preceded in death by her parents Alexander and Nettie Patrick; brothers Olife Patrick, Gaither Patrick, Ennis Patrick, and Hezzie Patrick; sisters Zadie Patrick and Margaret Patrick Gasman all of Bolton, North Carolina. Pat was a unique person – a hard worker exhibiting a kindness to all whom she met and giving all of her time and talents while passionately being an advocate for issues she believed in. All being said, "Polly" touched the lives of all those whom she met. Professionally, she retired from AT&T in 1999 after 20 years of service and in later years became very active with the Gwinnett Tea Party Association and Founding Father's Meetings of Gwinnett County. She was also a strong vocal advocate in many Native American issues abroad and at home in Dacula. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Daniel Jakubowski of Dacula, GA; son, Eric (Elizabeth) Jakubowski; granddaughter Lauren Jakubowski all of Tallahassee, FL; sisters Vera Mae Freeman and Meredith Freeman of Bolton, NC; Leola (Harlee) Little of Council, NC, and a host of nieces and nephews in Bolton, Riegelwood and Wilmington, NC. A Funeral Service to Celebrate the Life of Pauline will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 19, 2010 at Wages Lawrenceville Chapel. Father Leo Hollern will officiate. Entombment will follow in the East Shadowlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
