NY judge nixes Douglas ex’s ‘Wall Street’ suit
NEW YORK — A judge said New York is no place for Michael Douglas’ ex-wife to try to get at his earnings from his recent ‘‘Wall Street’’ sequel. A Manhattan judge dismissed Diandra Douglas’ lawsuit in a ruling made public Monday. The judge said it doesn’t belong in a New York court. Michael and Diandra Douglas divorced in California in 2000 after 23 years together. Michael Douglas’ lawyer Marilyn Chinitz said he’s very pleased with the ruling. Aguilera to get star on Walk of Fame LOS ANGELES — It’s no Mickey Mouse thing. Christina Aguilera has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The pop diva, who launched her career nearly 20 years ago as part of ‘‘The New Mickey Mouse Club,’’ received the walk’s 2,432rd star. In an interview with The Associated Press before Monday’s unveiling, Aguilera said getting the star was ‘‘pretty surreal.’’ The 29-year-old singer was still a teenager when she won her first Grammy in 1999, for best new artist. She has collected three more in the years since. Millions watch Palin’s Alaska TLC show NEW YORK — Sarah Palin made TLC history. The debut of ‘‘Sarah Palin’s Alaska,’’ the former governor’s travelogue about her home state, had just under 5 million viewers on TLC Sunday night. The Nielsen Co. said that was the top-rated series premiere in the network’s history, besting ‘‘What Not To Wear’’ in 2003. During her first episode, the ex-vice presidential candidate did some fishing and rock climbing, along with trying to keep her daughter Willow’s new boyfriend away from the girl’s room.More like this story
