Lunch

• Italian burger — Black Angus beef, mushrooms, fresh mozzarella, lettuce, tomato and red onion served with French fries and sweet cole slaw, $9

• Siciliana pizza — Spinach, feta cheese, black olives and sundried tomatoes, $9

Dinner

• Mista salad — Mixed greens, gorgonzola cheese, diced tomatoes and pine nuts in a balsamic dressing, $6

• Tortelloni con spinach — Brown butter, walnuts, fresh sage and parmigiano reggiano, $16

• Pistachio crusted sea bass — Pistachio-crusted, pan-seared Chilean sea bass, golden beets, mushroom ravioli and salmoriglio, $28

• Location: Luciano’s is in the Kroger shopping center directly across from the Arena at Gwinnett Center.

• Hours: Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, while dinner is offered from 4 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 4 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday. A brunch menu is offered from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

• Owner: Norberto Sanchez, a Duluth restaurants, owns both the Luciano’s in Duluth and the location in Johns Creek, as well as the Frontera chain and Pampas Steakhouse.

• Atmosphere: Luciano’s offers an upscale dining atmosphere where tables are set with white tablecloths and black cloth napkins. Black and white photographs on canvas of statues decorate the walls throughout the expansive dining room, where regular table seating is provided. Luciano’s also offers a patio for outdoor dining.

• Menu: Many of items listed as “new” are actually dishes that have gone from being specials to regular menu offerings as a result of customer feedback. Executive Chef John Soilis revamps the menu every three to four months to coincide with seasons and what ingredients are available fresh.

One dish that is now offered as a dinner entree started out as an appetizer: the scallops and artichokes is made with linguine, pancetta and a garlic lemon butter sauce.

Another popular menu item is the flatbread, which comes with a variety of toppings, including pepperoni, smoked chicken, prosciutto and more.

Luciano’s also serves Neapolitan-style pizzas that can be made with an organic, whole wheat crust.

Pasta, salads, steak and seafood dishes round out the dinner menu, while the lunch menu includes paninis.

Luciano’s offers a full bar with wine, beer and liquor selections.

• Things you might not know: Luciano’s hosts live musical performers from about 7 to 11 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays.
