LAWRENCEVILLE — A Lawrenceville woman faces felony cruelty to children charges for allegedly bashing a child across the forehead with a broom handle.
Gwinnett police arrested Jennifer Jackson, 48, on charges of first-degree cruelty to children and battery on Sunday night. Jackson reportedly hit the boy above his left eye with the broom handle, causing a 3⁄4-inch laceration, according to a Gwinnett police report. Jackson’s relationship to the boy, who shares her last name, was not known. Further details about the case were not available Monday, said Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. Brian Kelly. The incident reportedly occurred at a residence in the 2100 block of Cruse Road. Jackson is listed as living on Porter Drive. Jackson remained at the Gwinnett County Jail on $8,100 bond Monday.More like this story
