Gwinnett Gladiators forward Aaron Bendickson was announced Wednesday as the ECHL’s Rookie of the Month for October.
Bendickson, 24, played in just four games with Gwinnett before he was called up to Rochester in the AHL on Oct. 27, but made a strong impression in his first four games as a professional as he scored twice and racked up seven assists. In the Gladiators’ first game of the season on Oct. 15, Bendickson had a goal and an assist at Florida and beat several defensemen for a shorthanded tally the next day. On Oct. 22, he had four assists and a plus-five rating in a win over South Carolina and he had two more assists in another win over the Everblades the following day. The former Wisconsin standout has appeared in two AHL games with Rochester, tallying six penalty minutes. Davies called up to Chicago Gladiators rookie forward Michael Davies was called up to the Chicago Wolves of the AHL on Wednesday. Davies, 23, became the second Gladiator to be recalled this season after his former teammate Bendickson got a call-up to Rochester in late October. Davies was assigned to Gwinnett from Chicago in early October. In six ECHL games this season, Davies scored a goal and had five assists for six points for the rookie forward.More like this story
