INDIANAPOLIS — Tied in the eighth, the Gwinnett Braves dropped a 4-2 loss to Indianapolis on Tuesday and split the four-game series with the Indians.
With two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning and the score knotted 2-2, Indy's Brandon Moss hit a two-RBI double that sent the winning runs across the plate. Starter Chris Resop struck out eight batters in his five innings. Mariano Gomez (1-2) took the loss, allowing two runs in an inning of work. Joe Thurston (1-for-2) hit his fourth home run of the season and Brandon Hicks went 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the G-Braves (20-25). Indians' starter Daniel McCutchen pitched seven innings and allowed two runs on seven hits. Steven Jackson (1-0) earned his first win of the year and Jean Machi picked up his fifth save. Gwinnett is off today before traveling to take on the Louisville Bats on Thursday.More like this story
