DACULA -- Two people, including a Gwinnett County firefighter, were hospitalized following a weekend house fire in the 600 block of Williams Street in Dacula.
Crews responded to the ranch-style home at 11:13 p.m. Saturday to find the master bedroom and attic ablaze. The fire was rendered under control about 12:25 a.m., said Fire Department spokesman Lt. Eric Eberly.
One man inside the home was transported to a nearby hospital with a non-life threatening condition, while a woman was treated on scene after she denied transport, Eberly said.
One firefighter was also hospitalized due to fatigue from battling the fire.
"(The firefighter is) expected to be fine," Eberly said.
The family declined assistance from the American Red Cross, Eberly said.
The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
