SUWANEE -- A Suwanee woman's claims that her grandson was molested three years ago while visiting from New York spurred a man's arrest this week.
Suwanee police arrested Christopher Gonzalez, 20, on child molestation charges Friday based on the woman's claims. The victim, now 14, resides in New York with his parents.
The grandmother told police the boy recounted the abuse, which occurred in the summer of 2007, on Monday to his parents, according to a Suwanee police report.
The alleged victim was staying with his grandmother in Suwanee at the time. She is friends with Gonzalez' family, the report states.
The grandmother told police she spoke with an attorney and decided filing a police report was the best course of action.
Gonzalez remains at the Gwinnett County Jail without bond, charged with two felony counts of aggravated child molestation.
It wasn't clear Friday what had prompted the boy to come forward with the accusations.
