BUFORD -- Country singer Dierks Bentley has taken a fundraising event he started four years ago in Nashville out on the road.

Miles & Music for Kids is now a touring benefit event that combines a motorcycle ride and concert with proceeds going to local children's hospitals.

The metro Atlanta event to support Children's Healthcare of Atlanta will begin at a Roswell Harley-Davidson shop Sunday morning and end at Lake Lanier Islands Resort in Buford that afternoon, where Bentley will be joined for a concert on the beach by Drivin' N Cryin', T.J. Edmond & The Beggars' Guild, Cody Canada of Cross Canadian Ragweed, Josh Thompson, Chris Janson and others.

Bentley said he had no plans to take the benefit outside of Nashville, the city he has called home for the past 16 years, but the success of the event propelled it forward and out into cities across the country.

"Even from the first year it's just been a really great event," he said. "Great artist participation and the motorcycle ride, as well as the concert part."

A motorcycle enthusiast himself -- he rides a black, 2003 Harley-Davidson Softail Standard -- Bentley hopes to bring together the metro Atlanta cycling community and local country music fans Sunday.

"Anyone can participate in that ride or just come down and watch the show," he said. "It's going to be beautiful outside by the water. Come out and bring your family, enjoy some great music and know the money is going back into your community."
