Advanced Disposal hosting job fair
NORCROSS — Advanced Disposal is hosting a job fair Saturday to recruit drivers interested in joining the waste collection company. The job fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Advanced Disposal, 5374 Goshen Springs Road, Norcross. Those interested in applying for a driver position must bring proof of a Class A or B commercial driver's license and their current 3-year motor vehicle record. Falcons, Symetra Financial team up to honor teachers FLOWERY BRANCH — The Atlanta Falcons and Symetra Financial recently announced a multi-year partnership to sponsor Symetra Heroes in the Classroom, a community program recognizing Georgia teachers for outstanding leadership and instructional skills. Sixteen K-12 teachers across the state will be named a Symetra Hero in the Classroom during the 2010 NFL season. Teachers will be recognized in their schools with surprise presentations where they will receive a $1,000 donation for classroom books and supplies. In addition, they will be honored during live, on-field presentations at Falcons home games. The winners will be selected based on their ability to balance the core curriculum with students' individual needs; build trust among students, parents and the community; and invest in their students' long-term success.
