Man arrested wearing only a T-shirt

BUFORD -- A registered sex offender who told police he was high on ice and "did not remember anything that happened within the past three days" was arrested early Saturday morning wearing nothing but a T-shirt.

Police said they responded to a pair of calls about 4 a.m. Saturday morning stating that Marcus Anthony Terrell, 38, had been knocking on doors and attempting to enter homes near Hamilton Mill Road.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found the suspect being held at gunpoint by a resident on Heritage Court, wearing nothing but a brown T-shirt and cowering behind a backyard fence, the police report said.

Witnesses reported that Terrell had "first knocked on the door and then was walking around checking the back doors and windows to the residence."

Upon his arrest, police said Terrell told them he had been robbed earlier in the night. He later recanted, saying that he had used "ice," or crystal methamphetamine, earlier in the night and had no recollection of anything that had happened in the previous three days.

While running Terrell's background, he was identified as a sex offender.

Gwinnett County court records show that Terrell pled guilty to one count of sexual battery in September 2004, with five counts of child molestation being dropped. He served one year in jail.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's sex offender registry, Terrell lives on Sackett's Drive in Lawrenceville.

Jail records show that Terrell, who remains incarcerated on charges of public indecency and prowling, has been booked into Gwinnett County Jail 12 times since 1994.
