Parkview's Matt Olson was named player of the year and Central Gwinnett's Taylor Fields was named pitcher of the year, earning the top honors on the All-Region 8-AAAAA baseball team released this week by the region's coaches.
Parkview, the region champion, was named team of the year and the coach of the year award went to the Panthers' Chan Brown.
The coaches also named Brookwood's Lucas Sims, Parkview's Jack Esmonde and Jesse Foster, Shiloh's Matt Vollenweider and South Gwinnett's Thomas Embry to the all-region team as pitchers.
The all-region position players are Berkmar's Xaviir Briggs, Brookwood's Tremayne Toorie, Central Gwinnett's Ryan Bruce and Phillip Bates, Dacula's Oliver Pratt, Grayson's Clay Ardeeser and Will Kimmel, Parkview's Brandon Kregel and Austin Wheeler and South Gwinnett's Kent Rollins.
