FLOWERY BRANCH -- A new Publix Super Market is set to open Thursday in Friendship Springs Village shopping center in Flowery Branch.
The grand opening will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6:45 a.m. with remarks by Hall County Commissioner Bobby Banks.
The 45,500 square-feet store, the sixth Publix Super Market in Hall County, will include the traditional grocery, meat, produce, dairy and frozen food departments in addition to the following full-service departments: pharmacy, bakery, deli and fresh seafood, and will employ about 80 associated.
A unique feature for this store includes bicycle racks in front for customer convenience.
The first 1,500 customers during the store's grand opening will receive a free Publix reusable grocery bag and the first 25 customers who purchase $25 or more in groceries will win a free bag of groceries. Customers are encouraged to register to win prizes throughout the store.
Activities for children are also planned from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
