On the menu

• Crab Wontons: Crabmeat and cream cheese wrapped in a wonton skin ($6.25)

• Sun's Beef: Lightly breaded beef stir-fried with vegetables in a sweet and sour sauce. ($14.75)

• Location: Iron Wok Bistro is located at the Shops of Hamilton Mill in Dacula. From Interstate 85 north, take exit 120 and turn right on Hamilton Mill Road. Take a left onto Braselton Highway. The restaurant is on the right in the same shopping center as Mellow Mushroom.

• Hours: Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Lunch is served until 4 p.m. daily.

• Atmosphere: The Iron Wok dining area, with seating for approximately 150 people, is contemporary with modern decorations, like water features and graphic art elements. Booths line the outside walls as well as the divider for the fully-stocked bar area, while tables for six or more are arranged on the floor. There is an additional area behind the bar for larger parties and an outdoor patio if requested.

• The menu: The bistro offers traditional Chinese dishes with several specialty entrees, including Iron Prawns, lightly battered prawns with a spicy garlic sauce, and Honey Walnut Shrimp, crispy shrimp in a sweet cream sauce with honey walnuts served with broccoli. Most sauces are homemade and they offer a large selection of fried and steamed dishes. According to owner Steven Sun, the selections are designed to be a combination of styles.

"It is fusion-style cuisine but closer to the traditional recipe." Sun said.

Manager Alexander Liu says the customers come back because of the quality of food, since Iron Wok only uses Angus beef and white-meat chicken.

"A lot of people like our food because they can trust us to have a better quality of food,' Liu said.

Although the restaurant is designed for fine dining it is also kid and family friendly.

Along with popular dishes like Mongolian beef or sesame chicken, Iron Wok offers several unique appetizers, like shrimp cakes, similar to crab cakes but made with shrimp and scallops, and the golden pillow, a fried pastry filled with beef, potatoes and curry sauce.

Iron Wok also serves Coke products and has a full bar includes cocktails and a large wine selection.

• Things you might not know: Sun is also the owner of Ninja Steakhouse, which has locations in Hamilton Mill, Cumming and Chateau Elan.
