LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Dodgers put shortstop Rafael Furcal on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday because of a strained left hamstring and purchased the contract of well-traveled infielder Nick Green, a Duluth grad, from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Furcal's move is retroactive to April 28, the day after he hurt himself running to first base in a doubleheader at New York. He is hitting .309 with six RBIs in 19 games.
Furcal is on the DL for the third time in the last four seasons. He missed nearly five months after back surgery in 2008 and was out two weeks in 2007 with a sprained left knee.
