Gwinnett Daily Post
LAWRENCEVILLE It shouldn't be much longer before Jordan Schafer is ready to join the Gwinnett Braves.
The center fielder is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Class A Rome on Monday and could be moving up to the G-Braves after Rome completes a seven-game homestand that runs through next Sunday. Schafer, who spent the first two months with Atlanta a year ago and hit two homers in his first game, is coming back from wrist surgery and didn't play during spring training. He is on Atlanta's disabled list and has been rehabbing in Florida. Schafer, 23, was sent down to Gwinnett on June 2 last year, but played in just nine games because of the wrist injury.More like this story
