NORCROSS -- An altercation between three men at an apartment off Holcomb Bridge Road left one man hospitalized with gunshot wounds Monday, police said.
The victim's girlfriend, who was not identified, told police she'd accompanied him to visit friends at a residence in the 6300 block of Baker Court near Norcross.
While standing outside the apartment, the girlfriend told police "two black males walked up to them, and one of them brandished a handgun," said Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. David Schiralli. "An altercation ensued between the victim and the two unknown males, which ultimately led to the victim being shot."
The girlfriend drove the injured man to another address in the 6300 block of Primrose Hill Court and called 911. He's expected to survive, Schiralli said.
The identification of the alleged assailants is unknown, and investigators are trying to establish a motive, Schiralli said.
Police on Tuesday withheld the names of the victim and his girlfriend.
