Music Go Round hosting food drive for Lilburn Co-op
LILBURN Ann Wood and Jeff Perkins, the owners of Music Go Round Lilburn, are hosting a food drive in April to collect food for the Lilburn Cooperative Ministry food bank.
Those who visit Music Go Round with a fresh can or box of food will receive 10 percent off any "can" clearance merchandise. In addition, musicians who bring in a can of food on April 24 can get a free string change on one guitar.

Mortgage loan officer joins Lawrenceville SunTrust office
LAWRENCEVILLE Jonathan B. Harris has joined SunTrust Mortgage Inc.'s Lawrenceville office as a senior mortgage loan officer.
Harris has more than 10 years of experience in the mortgage lending industry and experience with all types of loan programs. He most recently worked at Hometown Community Bank.
During his time in the mortgage industry, Harris has participated with the Rotary Club of Braselton and has earned the Mortgage Bankers Association of Georgia Gold Award from 2004 to 2007.

Aviation Institute awards scholarship
LAWRENCEVILLE The Aviation Institute of Maintenance Atlanta Campus recently announced Crystal Lewis and Clifford Geraci as the recipients of the Brian Bennett Scholarship Award.
The Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA) Foundation Scholarship Program was created to recognize and reward qualified students who have selected aviation maintenance as a career.
Louis and Geraci were named the recipients of the scholarship based on their enthusiasm and commitment to pursue a career in the aviation industry.
Louis hails from Baton Rouge, La., and plans to graduate in January. Geraci is from Santa Fe, Texas, and plans to graduate in March 2011.
The Brian Bennett Scholarship was named after the late son of Richard and Susan Bennett. Brian Bennett was one of the original founders of the PAMA Foundation.

Land Trust sponsors gardening sessions
SNELLVILLE The Georgia Piedmont Land Trust will sponsor "Grow Your Garden Beautifully With Native Plants," a two-part session from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 10 at the Mary Kistner Nature Center near Snellville.
The morning session, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will feature Monarchs Across Georgia volunteers, who will demonstrate how to build a pollinator garden and make a Butterfly Garden in a pot. Participants will help and create their own container garden to take home.
The afternoon session, from 12:30 to 3 p.m., includes lunch and presentations by Walter Reeves, the Georgia Gardener and host of WSB Radio's Saturday morning gardening program; Tara Dillard, landscape designer and garden writer; and Laurie Fisher, CEO of Buck Jones Nurseries.
The cost for the full-day event, including lunch from Whole Foods Market, is $55. The cost for the morning session only is $30, and the cost for the afternoon session only is $25.

Woman's Club accepting scholarship applications
BRASELTON The Braselton Woman's Club is accepting applications for a $1,000 Cookie Scholarship, available to seniors of Mill Creek High School and Jackson County Comprehensive High School, as well as home-schooled seniors.
Applications can be obtained from the Jackson County Comprehensive High counseling office or the Mill Creek career specialist or by contacting B. Gordy at 678-516-1137 or email@example.com.
Students have until April 16 to turn in the application to their school counselor or the Woman's Club.
The Braselton Woman's Club is an active community organization that meets at the Braselton-Stover House at 2:30 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month from September through June. The club's objective is foster mutual counsel and helpfulness and to unite the influence and service of women in promoting education, civic, social and moral advancement in the community.
