LAWRENCEVILLE -- Kaiser Permanente, Georgia's largest not-for-profit health plan, announced Friday its plans to open a new $2 million medical office in Lawrenceville.
The new location at 455 Philip Blvd. is scheduled to open at the end of May, making it the organization's third Gwinnett facility.
"The new medical office in Lawrenceville will provide more convenience and access to our members," said Peter Andruszkiewicz, president of Kaiser Permanente of Georgia. "The property is in an ideal location, which enables us to better serve members in this ever-growing city and county."
The new office will initially offer internal medicine and pediatrics to Kaiser Permanente members, and its 10 to 15 health care professionals will work with exam and procedure rooms, a laboratory, a pharmacy and basic radiology services.
Gwinnett County Commission Chairman Charles Bannister sees the expansion as another step toward achieving the targets outlined in Partnership Gwinnett, the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce's initiative to bring jobs and investment to the county.
"Kaiser Permanente's expansion is a strong testament to our focus on achieving (growth in the health care industry) and cultivating a pro-business environment essential to sustainability and growth of health care businesses," he said.
