PREP ROUNDUP: Rollins' double lifts Comets

SNELLVILLE -- Kent Rollins' game-winning two-RBI double led South Gwinnett past Redan 6-5 in the bottom of the eighth inning Monday.

Rollins finished 3-for-5 with three RBIs and the Comets moved to 5-5 this season.

Keith Chaney was 2-for-4 and also picked up the win on the mound with three innings of work. He gave up two earned runs and struck out two to improve to 2-1.

Jordan Ramey was 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Mack Adams started and went five innings with two earned runs and three strikeouts in the no-decision.

GIRLS SOCCER

Parkview 6, Meadowcreek 0

NORCROSS -- Stephanie Gutierrez scored two goals and the Parkview girls soccer team remained unbeaten with a 6-0 shutout of Meadowcreek on Monday.

Also scoring for the Panthers (7-0, 3-0) were Kansas Bayly, Kim Spence, Kylie Flynn and Lindsey Minar.

Marjorie Hammond and Asha Wright combined for the shutout in goal.

BOYS SOCCER

Providence 4, Cross Keys 1

LILBURN -- A three-goal second half powered Providence past Cross Keys 4-1 on Monday.

The game was tied 1-1 at the half on a goal by Taylor Henry, which he scored on a corner kick.

Then the Stars (3-5) got rolling with goals from Brent Hansen, Ryan Mozzone and Caleb McQuaig in the second half.

GIRLS TENNIS

Grayson 3, Loganville 0

LOGANVILLE -- The Rams remained unbeaten for the season at 11-0 after taking a rain-shortened road victory at Loganville on Monday.

Winning individual matches for Grayson were Sharon Kim at No. 2 singles, Alexis Lee at No. 3 singles and the team of Holly Craig and Caitlin Smith at No. 1 doubles.

BOYS TENNIS

Hebron 5, Apalachee 0

WINDER -- The Lions swept through the Wildcats in a non-region road match Monday.

Winners for Hebron included Stephen Burslem at No. 1 singles, Evan Haas at No. 2 singles, Kyle Donatucci at No. 3 singles, Brandon Finke and Jack Griffin at No. 1 doubles and Robert Hunt and Nick Cannon at No. 2 doubles.

GIRLS GOLF

Central Gwinnett 63, Mountain View 67

MONROE -- The Bears fell to the Black Knights by four strokes in a match shortened to five holes by wet course conditions at Providence Country Club despite a score of 32 by Kayle Hennelly.

GAC's Herbert runner-up

LAWRENCEVILLE -- In a field of nine girls teams at the inaugural Northwood Classic hosted by Providence, Greater Atlanta Christian's Emee Hebert finished second overall Monday.

Her score of 25, on the modified Stableford system, also helped GAC to a fourth-place finish.

BOYS GOLF

Mountain View 112, Central Gwinnett 114

MONROE -- The Bears edged the Black Knights on Monday at Providence Country Club in a match shortened to five holes due to wet course conditions.

Cole Park shot a 2-over par 22 to lead Mountain View.

GAC, Providence 1-2 at Northwood Classic

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Greater Atlanta Christian won the inaugural Northwood Classic, which included six boys teams, and host Providence finished second Monday.

With modified Stableford scoring, the Spartans were first with 124 points. The Stars, led by Mookie DeMoss' 35-point round, were runners-up with 109.

GAC's Austin Stevens had the second-best overall round with a 30.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Peachtree Ridge 15, Parkview 2

LILBURN -- Goalie Erin Palanza made 14 saves and Peachtree Ridge rolled past Parkview 15-2 in an area game Monday.

Peachtree Ridge's offense was led by Rachel Harper and Jennifer Hennelly, who each scored four goals for the Lions (5-0-1, 2-0).

Collins Hill 15, North Springs 4

SUWANEE -- Danielle Vincent scored eight goals on Saturday, leading the Collins Hill girls lacrosse team to a 15-4 victory over North Springs.

Kaitlyn Schechler (three goals), Darsey Walker (three goals, one assist), Mollie Meredith (one goal) and Jenna Zwiren (two assists) also contributed to the offensive attack.

BOYS LACROSSE

Collins Hill 11, Marist 5

ATLANTA -- Alex Squires made 10 saves to help lead Collins Hill to a 11-5 victory over Marist on Monday.

Connor Squires and Hayes Hoey sparked the offense with three goals and an assist each.

Collin Russell had two goals and an assist, Jonathan Stewart scored twice and Drew Robbins also added a goal for the Eagles (5-2).
