Gwinnett Daily Post
KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Gwinnett had a guest pitcher Monday.
With Atlanta having its only scheduled day off of the spring, Jair Jurrjens got in four innings of work with the G-Braves in an exhibition game against Toledo.
Jurrjens, who didn't make his start Sunday against St. Louis because of rain, gave up two runs on five hits and a pair of hit batters. He struck out three and walked none, throwing 55 pitches.
With Jurrjens starting and Eric O'Flaherty also working an inning in relief, Clint Sammons was called on to catch for the G-Braves in the game, which was moved to Champion Stadium from the minor league complex.
The reinforcements didn't help. O'Flaherty gave up two runs in his inning and the G-Braves lost 6-4.
