PREP ROUNDUP: Manga scores hat trick in Hebron's 3-1 victory

WALNUT GROVE -- Josh Manga scored all three goals as the Lions beat Walnut Grove 3-1 on Saturday.

Phillip Cox, Chris Austin and Brian Oduro each had an assist, while Kevin Sharpton had seven saves in goal for Hebron (8-0-1, 3-0).

BOYS SOCCER

Parkview 4, Meadowcreek 0

NORCROSS -- Mark Brugh led the Panthers with two goals to help shut out Meadowcreek 4-0 on Saturday.

Santiago Gubitosi had a goal and an assist, while Tommy Lehner added a goal, and Pete Charter had an assist for Parkview (3-4, 2-1). Jack Falle got the shut out in goal.

Duluth 6, Stephenson 2

DULUTH -- Duluth beat Stephenson 6-2 on Saturday.

Brian Marshall, Brandon Harris, Connor Bell, Joey Constantine, Steven Galvez and Kevin Rodriguez each scored a goal for the Wildcats (4-2, 1-2).

Archer 2, Greenville Tech 1

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Abdul Yabulku and Jules Alcide each scored a goal to help Archer (4-0) take a 2-1 win over Greenville Tech (S.C.) on Saturday.

Buford 0, Shiloh 0

SNELLVILLE -- Buford and Shiloh tied 0-0 on Saturday.

Rutilo Mondrago had one save in the shut out for the Wolves (5-1-2, 2-0).

Archer 4, Greenville Tech 3

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Mackenzie Brown led Archer with two goals as the Tigers took a 4-3 win over Greenville Tech (S.C.) on Saturday.

Anna Waters and Angie Cruz each added a goal for Archer (2-7).

Grayson 2, Lambert 1

CUMMING -- Erin Griffin and Brooke Baush each scored a goal to help Grayson (4-5-1) beat Lambert 2-1 on Saturday.

Norcross 9, Pacelli 0

NORCROSS -- Jess Martin and Sarah Hughes combined to get the shutout in goal, to help Norcross beat Pacelli 9-0 on Saturday.

Buford 3, Shiloh 0

SNELLVILLE -- Buford shut out Shiloh 3-0 on Saturday.

Lindsey White scored a goal and had an assist, while Katie Garth and Melissa Sullivan scored a goal apiece for Buford. Jacey Chandler had an assist and Caitlin Hollis got the shut out in goal for Buford (6-2).

BASEBALL

Buford 9, North 7

SUWANEE -- Buford took a 9-7 victory over North Gwinnett on Saturday.

The Wolves were up 8-1 after the second inning, but North came back 8-7, before Buford beat them 9-7. Josh Heddinger picked up the win as Jake Burnette and Troy Herterick helped Buford hold on as they threw the final three scoreless innings.

Jamie Ritchie was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, including a home run, while Kyler Berrett had a double and two RBIs for Buford (8-2).

For North, Nick Jones went 3-for-4 with four RBIs, including a three-run double and Jeremy Burns hit a three-run home run.

Michael Aker pitched 52/3 innings of relief, gave up one hit and struck out four batters. Aker retired 16 in a row before allowing a solo home run in the top of the seventh for the Bulldogs (4-4). Daniel Szathmary got the loss after giving up seven hits, seven runs, three earned runs and striking out one for North.

GAC 18, Pace 6

ATLANTA -- Greater Atlanta Christian beat Pace Academy 18-6 on Saturday.

John LaMay went 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs, while Riley Rue was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Robby McPherson went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs, while Jordan Dudek finished 2-for-3 for the Spartans (4-5). Greg Lenox picked up the win on the mound.

Duluth 15, Mountain View 6

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Chris Rich (2-0) gave up five hits and three earned runs in five innings to pick up the win as Duluth topped Mountain View 15-6 on Saturday.

Alex Raffensperger got three hits and four RBIs, while David Matton had two hits and two RBIs, and Chris Rich and John Clark each had two hits apiece for Duluth (4-3). Tyler Bethune was 2-for-3 and had a bases- loaded double for Mountain View.

Greenbrier 7, Brookwood 5

SNELLVILLE -- Brookwood fell to Greenbrier 7-5 on Saturday.

Lucas Sims started for Brookwood and gave up an earned run, two hits and struck out four in five innings, and Taylor Sketch registered the loss on the mound for the Broncos.

Offensively, Mike Gouge was 1-for-1, Trey Hegey was 1-for-2, Lucas Sims went 1-for-3 and Robert Borkhius was 1-for-4 for Brookwood (2-6).

Mill Creek 5, McEachern 1

POWDER SPRINGS -- Mill Creek's Ryan Palmer (1-0) threw two scoreless innings and struck out two batters to beat McEachern 5-1 on Saturday.

Chandler Boyd was 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI, Jarad Curry was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Ryan Sanders went 1-for-1 for Mill Creek (7-1).

BOYS LACROSSE

Lambert 10, Peachtree Ridge 6

SUWANEE -- Greg Rose had 12 saves for Peachtree Ridge, but the Lions fell 10-6 to Lambert on Saturday.

Nick Lombardo and Tanner Botts each scored two goals, while Chris Sawdey and Julian Gonzalez each added a goal for Peachtree Ridge. Jarred Harper and Cory Hall had an assist apiece for the Lions (7-1).

GIRLS GOLF

North finishes second in tourney

SNELLVILLE -- North Gwinnett finished second in the Brookwood Invitational at Summit Chase on Saturday.

Ellyn Kievet shot an 85 which was the third best individual score of the day, while Macy Stucke shot a 97 for North.
