LAWRENCEVILLE -- Three passengers in an Interstate 85 bus crash two days before Christmas received permanent injuries that included severe lung, neck, spine, arm and back damages, according to an indictment released this week.

Driver Joy Christine Wilson, 32, is named in the 15-count indictment as causing the wreck that injured everyone aboard the bus. Police said Wilson's Honda hit the bus, causing it to slam into an Interstate 85 guardrail and tip over.

Investigators said last month that Wilson's blood alcohol content at the time was more than twice the legal limit.

The bus, owned by Just People Inc., was part of a caravan traveling from Norcross to an art class in Hoschton. Twelve passengers were hospitalized.

The Norcross-based not-for-profit provides support services to adults with developmental disabilities. Wilson stopped briefly before fleeing the crash site and was apprehended by police a short time later, authorities said.

Wilson is charged in the indictment with nine counts of serious injury by vehicle, two counts of DUI, three counts of failure to return to an accident scene and reckless driving.

She remains at the Gwinnett County Jail without bond.

Student tied to bomb threat

In a separate indictment, Norcross resident Caleb Joseph Washington is charged with false public alarm for allegedly calling in a bomb threat to Norcross High School in December 2008.

Washington called and warned school officials that three bombs were concealed in the school on Dec. 4 that year, the indictment says.

Washington, a junior at the time, faced disciplinary action in addition to criminal charges, said Gwinnett Public Schools spokeswoman Sloan Roach. He used a cell phone to call the threat in, Roach said.

"Obviously, that is disruptive and something we take very seriously," Roach said.

3 linked to fatal shooting

Another indictment handed down this week links three men to the fatal 2006 shooting of Atlanta resident Gretrell Dwayne Watkins in Norcross.

Watkins was shot on Peachtree Corners Circle on Nov. 11 that year and died about a month later.

The indictment lists Xavier Daniels, Jamal Nozel, both of Roswell, and Ishmael Estime-Benoit, of Miami, as perpetrators in the killing.

All three are charged with murder, felony murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault, aggravated battery and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony.
