Suspects in Alpharetta home invasion caught in Gwinnett

LAWRENCEVILLE -- A pair of suspects from an Alpharetta home invasion were arrested in Lawrenceville this weekend.

Gwinnett police officers with the department's crime suppression unit acted on a tip to communications officers from the Alpharetta police Sunday.

At about 9 a.m., the officers found the suspect vehicle while on a stakeout at 1435 Boggs Road, a press release said.

Once the driver and passenger were detained, additional officers went to the nearby apartment associated with the vehicle, the release said, and a woman at the apartment consented to a search. Inside, officers seized more than six pounds of marijuana.

The driver of the vehicle, Joselyn Rodriguez, and the woman at the apartment, Lucy Cabral, both of Lawrenceville, were arrested.

Both are charged with one count of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, said Gwinnett police officer Brian Kelly.

Cabral is being held at the Gwinnett jail in lieu of $5,900 bond, while Rodriguez is being held without bond, Kelly said. Charges related to the Alpharetta investigation may be forthcoming, he noted.

The passenger in the car has not been charged, he said.
