Prep roundup: Fields strikes out 11 to lead Central past GAC 5-4

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Taylor Fields struck out 11 batters, allowed no earned runs in 61/3 innings to help Central beat Greater Atlanta Christian 5-4 on Thursday.

Fields was 2-for-3 with two RBIs at the plate, while Anthony Fields was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a triple. Grant Thiel earned the save for Central (2-2).


South 7, Wesleyan 6

SNELLVILLE -- Ryan Patterson had the game-winning double in the bottom of the sixth inning and two RBIs, to help South Gwinnett take a 7-6 victory over Wesleyan on Thursday.

Adam Doss was 2-for-3 with five RBIs and Joseph White was 1-for-1 with two runs for the Comets. Keith Chaney (1-0) closed out the last three innings, and did not allow a run to pick up the win for South (2-2).

Kevin O'Leary was 2-for-3 with two home runs, Carter Garrison was 2-for-4 with a home run and Devin Stanton went 2-for-3 for Wesleyan.

Buford 11, East Hall 0

GAINESVILLE -- Buford shut out East Hall 11-0 in five innings on Thursday.

Eric Eck pitched all five innings, and allowed only one hit and struck out 12 batters. Adam Schrader and Adam Hampton each went 2-for-2, while Josh Heddinger and Tyler White each had two hits for the Wolves (2-1).

Hebron 15, Washington Wilkes 1

DACULA -- Ben Mason picked up the win after he struck out two batters, gave up three hits in four innings to help Hebron defeat Washington Wilkes 15-1 on Thursday.

Jordan Hillyer went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, while Lance Dutton was 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Danny Lockhart was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Matt Stephens also went 2-for-3 for the Lions (5-0).

Landmark Christian 7, Providence 1

FAIRBURN -- Providence fell to Landmark Christian 7-1 on Thursday.

Kevin Dodson suffered the loss on the mound after he allowed four runs, four hits, a walk and struck out four batters in three innings. Offensively, Dodson was 1-for-1 with an RBI and Nick Stidham was 1-for-2 with a run for the Stars (2-2).


GAC 8, Lambert 6

NORCROSS -- Lyndsey Kytle led the Spartans with three goals and an assist as Greater Atlanta Christian topped Lambert 8-6 on Thursday.

Amanda Jordan scored two goals, while Kim Slade, Missy Roughgarden and Kyra Johnson each added a goal for GAC (5-0, 1-0). Taylor Martin was the winning goalie.

Collins Hill 13, Duluth 3

DULUTH -- Collins Hill beat Duluth 13-3 on Thursday.

Danielle Vincent led with four goals for Collins Hill, with Darsey Walker, Kourtney Doherty and Kaitlyn Sheckler each adding two goals for the Eagles (1-3).

For Duluth, Ajahna Grosvenor and Ali Cole each scored a goal, while Paige Falkowski had 11 saves.

Wesleyan 23, Pace 2

ATLANTA -- Wesleyan downed Pace Academy 23-2 on Thursday afternoon.

Lizzie Eversbusch scored five goals, with Ali Gustin adding four for the Wolves (1-1).


Collins Hill 20, Duluth 0

DULUTH -- Connor Squires led the Eagles with seven goals to help Collins Hill beat Duluth 20-0 on Thursday afternoon.

Jonathan Stewart and Cody Cornwell each scored three goals, while Hayes Hoey added two goals for Collins Hill.

Norcross 23, Campbell 0

NORCROSS -- Davis Diamond and Cam Coval were top scorers for the Blue Devils as Norcross shut out Campbell 23-0 on Thursday.

Peachtree Ridge 13, Pace Academy 2

SUWANEE -- Greg Rose had eight saves in goal as Peachtree Ridge topped Pace Academy 13-2 on Thursday.

Nick Lombardo led with five goals and an assist, while Michael Ruffcorn had three goals and four assists. Chris Sawdey scored two goals and Cory Hall contributed a goal with three assists for the Lions.


Collins Hill 1, Kennesaw Mountain 0

SUWANEE -- Collins Hill beat Kennesaw Mountain 1-0 in penalty kicks (4-3) on Thursday.

Sage DoVale had four saves in the match, with two saved penalty kicks for the Eagles (4-0).

Holy Innocents' 6, Providence 1

LILBURN -- Tori Lopez scored the Stars' only goal as Providence fell to Holy Innocents' 6-1 on Thursday.

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Loganville shut out Central Gwinnett 4-0 on Thursday.


Norcross 2, Duluth 1

NORCROSS -- Kevin Kinney and J.P. Aspinwall each scored a goal to help Norcross take a 2-1 win over Duluth on Thursday.

Jason Lewter had an assist for Norcross (3-0, 2-0), while Brandon Harris scored Duluth's only goal.

Central 1, Loganville 0

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Charlie DeLoatche got the shutout in goal, and Devon Fernandez scored the Central Gwinnett's only goal as the Black Knights defeated Loganville 1-0 on Thursday.

Hebron 2, Mt. Pisgah 1

ALPHARETTA -- Hebron beat Mt. Pisgah 2-1 in penalty kicks (4-0) on Thursday.

John Foley had 13 saves and three saves in penalty kicks for Hebron. Josh Manga scored a goal off an Xavier Railey assist for the Lions. Austin Pinto and Manga each scored in penalty kicks for Hebron.


Grayson 5, Berkmar 0

GRAYSON -- Alex Clay, Courtney Williams and Sharon Kim each won singles matches to help the Rams shut out Berkmar 5-0 on Thursday.

In No. 1 doubles, Holly Craig and Caitlin Smith earned a point, while Kristi Cheesman and Alexis Lee added a point at No. 2 doubles for Grayson (6-0).

Collins Hill 4, Duluth 1

SUWANEE -- Erin Ensley and Abbie Wehr each collected wins in singles matches to help Collins Hill beat Duluth 4-1 on Thursday.

Kaitlin Torke and Jillian Estes won No. 1 doubles, while Leha Owensby and Linda Tibavinsky also had a win in doubles for the Eagles (5-2, 1-0).

Brookwood 5, Parkview 0

LILBURN -- Brookwood swept Parkview 5-0 on Thursday.

In singles, Jordan Johnston, Leah Pridgeon and Gabbie Griffith picked up wins. Keelie Denson and Molly McClintock added a point at No. 1 doubles, while Katie Hedlund and Arielle Byington earned a win at No. 2 doubles for the Broncos.

DECATUR -- Greater Atlanta Christian shut out Decatur 5-0 on Thursday.

Morgan Winston, Jessica Tuggle and Kathryn Osbon each earned a win at singles. Jacqueline Tate and partner Rebecca Gray won No. 1 doubles, while Rachel Gray and Emma Deal added a win in doubles for GAC (2-1).

Shiloh 4, Central 1

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Shiloh took a 4-1 victory over Central Gwinnett on Thursday.

Danielle Ramsey and T'ka Martin won singles matches for Shiloh. In doubles, Jennifer Alarcon and Amber Jones earned a win, while Ulanda Gordon and partner Siolhanna Brown added a win for the Generals.

Cindy Pham won No. 3 singles for the Black Knights. Central's Blake Turner and Tanner Moore were close to a win, but suffered the loss at No. 2 doubles, after losing the tiebreaker 10-9.

North 3, Northview 2

SUWANEE -- Taylor Clark and Nicole Koch each earned a win in singles to help North Gwinnett beat Northview 3-2 on Thursday.

Chelsea Koch and Maggie Dudacek won No. 2 doubles for North (1-1, 1-0).

Peachtree Ridge 4, Mill Creek 1

HOSCHTON -- Winning singles matches for Peachtree Ridge were Mary Jeremiah, Jessica Northcutt and Abby Owens as Peachtree Ridge topped Mill Creek 4-1 on Thursday.

Charlotte Greenwood and Taylor Cohen collected a win for Peachtree Ridge (2-0).

Mountain View 4, Archer 1

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Jennifer Tham and Yasmin Alkhalid won their respective singles matches as Mountain View downed Archer 4-1 on Thursday.

In doubles, Emily Lopez and Lauren Turrish won the first match, while Carling Parrish and Halle Eller won the second doubles match for Mountain View.

Casey Cowen earned a point at No. 3 singles for Archer.


Brookwood 5, Parkview 0

LILBURN -- Brookwood shut out Parkview 5-0 on Thursday.

Grayson Mills, Randy Phillips and Mark Guentert won their respective singles matches. Winning at doubles were Chris Eastwood and Zach Jones, and Jody Chan with partner Matthew Shemanski for the Broncos (7-0).

DULUTH -- Chris Clark and Jake Inderrieden each won their singles matches to help the Eagles take a 4-1 win over Duluth on Thursday.

Tyler Anderson and Tyler Kallgren earned a win at No. 1 doubles, while Mark Zacharias and Alec Rahmanian added a point in No. 2 doubles for Collins Hill (5-2, 1-0).

Grayson 4, Berkmar 1

GRAYSON -- Grayson swept its singles matches with wins from Scott Eldridge, Alex Schwab and John Everest, as the Rams downed Berkmar 4-1 on Thursday.

Mike Burns and Tommy Lee collected a win at No. 1 doubles for Grayson (4-2, 3-1).

DECATUR -- Greater Atlanta Christian shut out Decatur 5-0 on Thursday.

Collecting wins at singles matches were Ryan Miller, Xavier Mase and Hunter Ragland. Jake Montgomery and David Floyd won No. 1 doubles, while Blake Guy and Alan Almand also won at doubles for the Spartans (2-1).

Central 3, Shiloh 2

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Central Gwinnett took a 3-2 victory over Shiloh on Thursday.

Dino Kunovac won No. 1 singles, while Patrick Matthews and Joey Oliver collected a win at No. 1 doubles, and Tommy Nguyen and Dongsin Kang won No. 2 doubles for Central (5-2). Sterling Henry and Sean Patterson each won singles matches for Shiloh.

Dacula 5, Apalachee 0

DACULA -- Winning singles for Dacula were Kevin Ramberg, Matt Nelson and Chris Ragan to help the Falcons beat Apalachee 5-0 on Thursday.

Blair Kievit and Michael Ragan won at No. 1 doubles, while Caleb Barth and Blake Hutchins won No. 2 doubles for Dacula (5-2).

BRASELTON -- Buford shortened its game to seven holes due to darkness, but beat Flowery Branch 103-112 on Thursday at Chateau Elan.

Bailey Burnette shot a 51 for Buford (1-1).

WINDY HILL -- Wesleyan beat Holy Innocents' 65-82 at Legacy Links on Thursday afternoon.

Taylor Blair was the low medalist with a 29, and Kathryn Sacekas shot a 36 for the Wolves.

ATHENS -- Chris Rajek shot a 40 for the Eagles to help Collins Hill beat Apalachee 176-183 at the Georgia Club on Thursday.
