Ribbon cutting scheduled for Wine Corner
LAWRENCEVILLE The Lawrenceville Tourism & Trade Association will host its first ribbon-cutting ceremony of 2010 at 2 p.m. Friday at Niko's Wine Corner in Lawrenceville.
A recent member of the LTTA and new addition to historic downtown Lawrenceville, Niko's Wine Corner features a wide variety of fine wines, crystal and gourmet items, in addition to wines offered by the glass or bottle in-house. Located in Honest Alley Exchange at 178 E. Crogan St., Suite 210, Niko's Wine Corner offers a wine tasting from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday.
Niko's Wine Corner in Lawrenceville is a second location for owner, Niko Patel. With more than 10 years of experience in the wine industry, Patel launched his first location in November 2008 in the city of Snellville.

Rotary Club taking applications for scholarship
LAWRENCEVILLE The Gwinnett Rotary Club is seeking applicants for its Ambassadorial Scholarship.
The purpose of the Ambassadorial Scholarship program is to further international understanding and friendly relations among people of different countries and geographical areas. Nearly 38,000 men and women from about 100 nations have studied abroad since the program launched in 1947.
The program sponsors several types of scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students as well as for qualified professionals pursuing vocational studies. While abroad, scholars serve as goodwill ambassadors to the host country and give presentations about their homelands to Rotary clubs and other groups.
