Gwinnett Daily Post
More summer thunderstorms kept Gwinnett County firefighters busy across the county Friday evening, as lightning strikes were believed to be responsible for three fires within about a 30 minute span.
In Lawrenceville, lightning struck a house on the 200 block of Silvertop Drive at 5:59 p.m., with smoke showing upon firefighters' arrival.
Just four minutes later, lightning struck the roof of a home on the 600 block of Lawton Ridge Drive. No injuries were reported as smoke and flames came from the roof upon arrival.
At 6:34 p.m., firefighters responded to another possible lightning strike on the 100 block of Mitford Lane in Dacula. Heavy smoke came from the house upon arrival. No injuries were reported.
During that span, another fire originally believed to be lightning-caused, hit a house on the 800 block of Falling Water Lane in Norcross. The home sustained heavy damage, though no injuries were reported.
