Bond set for woman in Georgia governor's intern death

ATLANTA -- Bond was set at $100,000 for a woman charged in a midtown Atlanta auto crash that killed a 24-year-old intern on the Georgia governor's staff.

The woman, 26-year-old Christa Scott, waived her first court appearance Monday. A judge set the bond and scheduled a preliminary hearing for July 6.

Scott is charged with vehicular homicide, DUI and reckless driving in the crash that killed Jordan Griner early Saturday.

Police say Scott had a blood-alcohol level of .229, nearly three times the legal limit, when her convertible slammed into Griner's car.

Friends say Griner had acted as designated driver for a party and had just finished dropping off friends when the accident occurred.

Scott's attorney, Parag Y. Shah, says her client's family is devastated by the accident.
