Gwinnett Daily Post
LAWRENCEVILLE — About one hour before the scheduled first pitch, rain started falling hard at Coolray Field.
After a brief break about 7:30, it showed up again and at 8:10 p.m. the first G-Braves game ever was postponed before it started. Tuesday’s game against Durham was to end the G-Braves’ series with the Tampa Bay affiliate. A make-up date wasn’t announced. The Bulls next come to Gwinnett on Aug. 13-15. Fans with tickets to Tuesday’s game will be honored at any future Gwinnett Braves home game. After a clean season in its first year, Gwinnett now has two rain-postponed games after rain halted the G-Braves’ May 31 game against Indianapolis. Gwinnett is off today and continues its homestand Thursday against Syracuse. Both Thursday’s and Friday’s games begin at 6:05 p.m. to make up for postponed games. The G-Braves will begin Thursday’s game with a 4-2 lead in the top of the fifth and finish the regulation game. The other three games will start in the first and be just seven innings.More like this story
