DALTON -- Four recently graduated Gwinnett County seniors helped the North all-stars earn a split with the South in the GACA all-star softball doubleheader late Wednesday at Heritage Park.
The North all-stars, who were coached by Collins Hill's Billy Dooley, took a 4-0 win in Game 1, while the South came back to claim the nightcap 9-6.
Peachtree Ridge's Gabby Bedard went a combined 2-for-3 for the day with a double, a stolen base and two runs scored, while Hayley Downs of Grayson was 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs.
Also contributing for the North were Collins Hill's Sammy Lenahan (1-for-2, R, sacrifice fly, an RBI and a walk) and Alysha Rudnik of Buford (sac fly RBI, run, two walks).
Julia Westbrook of Brookwood was also selected, but was unable to play due to illness.
