Receiving equal amounts of scorn and praise, "Shutter Island" is nonetheless a worthy addition to director Martin Scorsese's canon and allowed him to tackle a genre (psychological horror/thriller) he hadn't visited since "Cape Fear." Leonardo DiCaprio delivers a sturdy if not spectacular performance as a government spook whose investigation of a murder leads him to a New England mental hospital where he butts heads with the administrators and patients. If you want to see the two bonus featurettes, you'll have to purchase or rent the Blu-ray as they are not included on the DVD.
