Cops: Sexual passes made at local pool

LILBURN -- A Lilburn man faces felony charges after police said he made drunken, sexual propositions to several children at a neighborhood pool.

Gwinnett police arrested Bryon Deibler, 40, on charges of enticing a child for indecent purposes and public drunkenness.

Witnesses reported the alleged misbehavior Saturday afternoon at a public pool on Charlton Ives Drive in Lilburn, in a neighborhood where Deibler lives, records show.

A woman told police Deibler was sitting in the clubhouse, motioning for children to come near him and then making passes with hand gestures, according to a police report.

An officer witnessed Deibler making an obscene gesture with his hand and mouth, the report states.

Three children who reported being propositioned by Deibler were between ages 9 to 12. One child's father told police he was hit on in a similar fashion.

When approached by police, Deibler stated he was doing nothing wrong, only trying to court the child's father. He claimed to have consumed two 24-ounce beers, the report states.

Police arrested Deibler without incident. At the jail, he told authorities he did not intentionally direct the gestures toward children, the report says.

Deibler remains at the Gwinnett County Jail without bond, pending a probable cause hearing scheduled Thursday.
