Early voting begins

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Early voting in the primary election is taking place now through July 16 at the Gwinnett County Elections Office in Lawrenceville.

Voters can cast their ballots from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays at the Elections Office at 455 Grayson Highway in Lawrenceville, according to the Gwinnett County website.

Advance voting will open in four additional locations before the July 20 Election Day. The community centers at Lucky Shoals Park in Norcross and George Pierce Park in Suwanee, as well as the Centerville Community Center in Snellville and the Dacula Activity Building in Dacula, will be open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 12 to 16.

For those who won't be able to make it to the polls for a primary election that includes a crowded gubernatorial race, absentee ballots can be obtained by calling 678-226-7210 or visiting www.gwinnettcounty.com.

Absentee ballot applications can either be mailed to the Elections Office or faxed to 678-226-7209. Completed absentee ballots, however, can only be returned in person or by U.S. mail.
